Organization Ontario March of Dimes
Organization Description
Ontario March of Dimes (OMOD) draws on more than 55 years of experience to serve people with physical disabilities of all ages and created March of Dimes Canada (MODC) in 2001 to share its knowledge and expertise across the country. We are the largest community-based rehabilitation and advocacy organization for people with physical disabilities in the province.  The organization operates programs and services through over 70 sites in Ontario, has control over three subsidiary non-profits, delivers government funded and donor funded services to over 40,000 consumers annually across the province and across Canada.
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide services to adults who have disabilities and are challenged by employment barriers. 
  • Provide case management services that include the direct delivery of and/or the coordination of pre-service/intake assessment, service planning, vocational counseling, monitoring, job/site analysis, and job placement/development.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities to identify realistic employment options through vocational testing, assessment and exploration.
  • Conduct transferable skills analysis and labour market research.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree; with minimum 3-5 years case management/counseling experience
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Association (VRA Canada) membership
  • Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) or Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor (CCRC) (or eligible)
  • Familiarity with current methods of vocational rehabilitation/career counseling including assessment, service planning, job search skills, job analysis and job placement
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Office, Windows, database an asset
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Sensitivity to issues/barriers that people with disabilities experience                   
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Schedule Part-time (21-35 hours per week)
