Duties / Responsibilities
|
- Liaise with mangers and employees on a day-to-day basis, providing support and advice on a variety of human resource issues and help resolve work-related problems
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and employee benefits
- Develop and implement human resource policies and procedures that are consistent with the organization’s direction and strategic goals
- Assist with the recruitment function, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and employment offers
- Plan and conduct employee orientation sessions to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives
- Act as a technical expert in the areas of benefits, compensation, employee relations, labour relations, recruitment and regulatory compliance
- Collect, develop, and analyze key human resource metrics and other workforce management data such as turnover, recruitment costs, training, performance appraisals, terminations, etc.
- Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Analyze training needs and coordinate employee development and training programs
- Work with the management team to meet the goals and objectives of the organization
- Work with the Human Resources team to accomplish special projects/other duties as needed
- Maintain a leadership role in the Health and Safety Committee and assist with WSIB claims management
- Maintain a leadership role in the Personal Leadership Committee and assist with staff meetings

Requirements / Qualifications
|
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a field related to human resources management-CHRP designation
- 5 - 7 years experience in Human Resources-
- Has experience and is able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of current employment legislation including Employment Standards Act, Human Rights, WSIB, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Employment Equity
- Flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness to quickly and efficiently address a broad cross-section of human resource issues
- Demonstrated coaching, mentoring, facilitation, problem-solving and influencing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, and interact with departments at different levels of the organization
- Strong leadership qualities and commitment to continuous improvement
- Proficiency in MS Office and computer applications
