Organization Description

SUMMARY:   This position provides administrative support to the Program Coordinator and Facilitators/Information Specialists at the Youth Connections Centre.

POSITION TITLE:Administrative Assistant
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Full Time Regular
LOCATION:Malton
REPORTING TO:Coordinator, Youth Connections
START DATE:November 9, 2009
SALARY RANGE:$34,274 – 37,274 (depending on experience)
HOURS:35

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Respond to client inquiries by phone and in person
  • Register clients and organize client questionnaires and evaluations
  • Maintain and update database
  • Assist in the compilation of statistical reports
  • Perform typing, photocopying, filing and other duties as assigned
  • Maintain inventory control of resource materials and other necessary documents
  • Assist with the production and distribution of promotional materials
  • Order supplies
  • Perform other related duties as required
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma - Post secondary education is an asset
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel), Internet and e-mail is essential
  • Experience in database management
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Knowledge of a language other than English is an asset
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
  • Adaptable, flexible and able to work independently
  • Some evenings or Saturdays may require
  • Ability to multi-task, take initiative and be able to meet regular deadlines
  • Ability to co-ordinate information, arrangements and correspondence
