Organization Description
The Salvation Army has been serving in Calgary and area since 1886 providing spiritual and social programming designed to meet the changing needs of the community.  With facilities offering educational, health, social and spiritual programs, the Salvation Army continues to show vision and leadership while demonstrating a compassionate care to those it encounters.
Duties / Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Having some understanding of case management systems
- Obtaining information and preparing reports or case histories on clients.
- Appraising client’s needs or eligibility for specific services.
- Liaising with other social agencies and health care providers involved with clients.
- Maintaining program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research.
- Job task planning and organizing.
- Administrative, office and housekeeping activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:The successful candidate shall:
- Have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with some human services training.
- Have at least one years experience with an at risk population.
- Pass a police security check with a Position of Trust and an Intervention Check at the candidate’s expense.
- Have an Emergency First Aid Certificate.
- Have understanding and some experience of the case management system
- Have the ability to interact with community resources and health care professionals
- Maintain statistics and prepare monthly reports
- Have problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
- Have good oral and written communication skills.
- Be able to work in a fast paced environment and under pressure.
- Have the ability to work with street involved adults in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner and willing to support the Mission of The Salvation Army
Schedule 80.5 hours bi- weekly (compressed work week) Night shift 8pm to 8am, partial weekends
